Interior Painter Natick, MA

Over The Years

In the 90’s, George started painting as an interior house painter in southern New Jersey. In 1997 George moved to Massachusetts to join the Painters Union, and went to work on his 3 year apprenticeship. George knew that one would be

fool hearted to re-invent a centuries old craft. He thought there may be folly by learning one method from just one mentor or one school, so he picked the brains of many. It wasn't as easy as it looked. He quickly learned that one can never have enough patience, care, and education to deliver a Quality Paint Job. A lesson never forgotten.

He drew upon the collective knowledge of dozens of experts and incorporated their many techniques into his own style, validating his thought that there is not just one method best for each situation. He still communicates with other Union Painters around the country and is always eager to store their methods in his forever expanding "toolbox".

For over ten years, George was a member of International Union of Painters and allied trades. Achieving a Formen position at the age of 21 George had the privilege of working on many challenging and rewarding projects. At the age of 21 it was difficult to earn the respect of all the other employees with the company some of whom had been with the company for many years. However over time the respect was earned and George was able to hand select the crews for his projects. Mostly painters with over 20 years exp. As well as working with the Apprentice committee to hire and train new apprentices, some are still working with the company to this day. Many of the projects were high end luxury condos including Manny Ramirez’s Penthouse at the Ritz in Boston.

George and his crew were unstoppable Painting many of the Residential new construction projects in Boston. These were $1mil.+ paint jobs. George excelled in the Formen position at times running crews of 30 or more men.

Time changes everything, as did George’s reasons and motivation for membership. Although taking a break from the Union (still member in good standing), the good friendships forged live on, and the collective knowledge of some of the best painters are still available by telephone, email, and half a dozen internet forums George refuses to be isolated and has found more direct ways to keep current with products, tips, tricks, tools, and techniques. George still participates in the annual Safety

Awards Ceremony for the Union.
